Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark is asking the government to respond to growing concerns in the region over the impact of cormorants on the environment. He says he is disappointed in what he calls the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry’s “do nothing” approach to the situation.
Clark says the growing population of the pesky bird is having a negative effect on the ecology of the St. Lawrence River, the Rideau system and inland waterways. It has been nearly a decade since the ministry’s last comprehensive review.
