Town of Prescott launching twelve-week “FoodCycler” pilot program this summer

Prescott is launching a new initiative to cut down on food waste in the community.

The town has partnered with Food Cycle Science, a Canadian corporation that sells composting machines, to launch a new “FoodCycler Pilot Program.”

The initiative will let residents purchase “FoodCycler” compost machines, partly subsidized by the Town itself.

After picking up their machines, residents will be asked to keep track of all the times they use it over a 12-week period, so the town can measure its impact on food waste in the region.

You can sign up to be a part of the program from now until the end of May.

Every resident that participates will be able to pick up their FoodCycler unit in early June at the beginning of the 12-week trial.

The Town of Prescott’s website has more details and an online registration form.
