A man accused of committing prescription fraud in the Town of Prescott has been arrested.
Police were called earlier this month to a pharmacy on King Street when they had believed to have been sent a fraudulent prescription. They notified police when the person with the same name under the prescription came to pick it up. The request was for a Schedule II Opioid that is used to treat severe pain.
As a result of the investigation an 18 year old from Ottawa was arrested. He has been charged with using a forged document, possession of instruments for forgery and failure to comply with a probation order.
He will appear at the Court of Justice in Brockville On February 26th.
