Pathways to Production program coordinator Rod Palmer says they will teach new people the skills they need to get settled in manufacturing. He says that the program was started because employers were finding it difficult to hire people with the appropriate skills, and hopes the program will prepare them for life in the industry. Palmer says the program will enhance everyday skills, from soft skills like problem-solving to one-day certification on things like WHMIS and emergency first aid. They will also get protective equipment upon completing the program.
