Brockville to reopen City Hall and Gord Watts Municipal Centre in September

The City of Brockville has announced it will be reopening City Hall and Gord Watts Municipal Centre on Tuesday, September 8th to the public without needing an appointment.

The City says Council and staff continue to comply with the guidelines provided by our governments and the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit.

Mayor Jason Baker says this step in the City’s reopening plan represents a significant move towards returning to operations as normal.

“Our citizens can once again access City resources at their convenience as they would have done prior to the onset of the global pandemic. We ask that our citizens continue to work with us and take the necessary precautions to keep our community safe.”

The City also says people will be required to wear a face covering and visitors should complete a COVID-19 self-assessment before entering. There will be signage up and spacing markers in these areas to help guide people and plexiglass barriers have been installed at customer service counters.

Brockville also says only one person is allowed in the Customer Service Office and the Planning and Building (Economic and Development Services) at a time unless they are with someone in their immediate bubble. People who want to meet with a staff member can still pre-book appointments.

For any other City facility status, visit the City’s website for more information here.
