Man on ATV charged with impaired driving

Police are reminding the public not to consume alcohol and operate motor vehicles after stopping a man on an ATV.

At approximately 6:00pm on July 8th officers with the Grenville County OPP were patrolling near Dishaw Street in Cardinal when they saw a man driving an ATV without a helmet. The OPP says officers stopped the driver and determined that the 23-year-old male was impaired by alcohol. As a result the accused has been charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in his blood stream.

Representatives of the OPP want to use this opportunity to remind the public that no matter the method it is illegal to operate a motorised vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. It is important to be alert whether you are driving a car, ATV, motorcycle or boat. The OPP add that driving while impaired, or driving with someone who is impaired, is never worth the risk.
