Two Leeds County OPP officers charged in drug trafficking ring

Two long-serving police officers have been charged with drug trafficking. The two Leeds County OPP officers were being watched as part of an 18-month-long investigation known as Project Arrowtown. On November 12th, investigators arrested nine people under various drug production, possession and trafficking charges.

Seven of the accused are from Mallorytown, one is still wanted and one is from Front of Yonge. The two OPP officers, 36-year-old Constable Jason Redmond of Lynn and 41-year-old Constable David Volgelzang of Elizabethtown, were charged with drug trafficking and obstruction of justice. They were suspended with pay in accordance with the Police Services Act.
