A rash of thefts from vehicles in Prescott and Cardinal has Grenville County OPP on high alert.
Police are reporting that 12 vehicles have been broken into with items being stolen since last Monday.
Constable Suzanne Runciman says owners need to be doing everything they can to stop themselves from becoming a victim. The includes locking all your doors and windows when you leave your car and parking in well lit areas at night.
Runciman also says to take everything of value out of your car. Items currently being targeted include GPS devices, keys, wallets, phones, music players, money, and garage door openers.
Police are currently investigating the string of thefts, and believe they might be related. The OPP is asking the community to help stop thefts as well; if you see a suspicious person or activity taking place, report it to police.
