Nation Valley ATV Club member shares details of upcoming food drive

Dave Baker is hoping for good weather and good trail conditions for the Nation Valley ATV Club’s second annual food drive.

The event is happening March 2nd this year, raising money for Community Food Share, an organization that runs several food banks in the region.

Baker says this year the event will follow a similar schedule to last year, with riders expected to check in at North Dundas District High School starting at 9:00 AM.

“Then, we get everybody gathered up [at roughly 10:00 AM] and we head out for a ride,” Baker says. “We travel around the North Dundas area. We’re going to do about 100 kilometres of trail, we’re going to stop halfway in South Mountain, and the South Mountain Fire Department is going to be there to cook us a trail-side lunch.”

After lunch, he says the riders will loop back around and return to the high school for a silent auction and catered dinner.

He says participants need to register before the day of the event.

“Registration for adults is $50, and that includes the trail-side lunch, dinner, the silent auction, and a chance for door prizes,” Baker explains. “Kids 12 and under are $15, and that includes the trailside lunch and the dinner. Registration closes on Wednesday, February 28th, at midnight, because that’s when we have to let our caterer know how many people are showing up.”

You can find details for how to register for the event on the Nation Valley ATV Club website and social media pages.
