SNC hosting virtual information sessions as it updates natural hazard maps

Local agricultural areas aren’t the only boundaries being updated this winter.

South Nation Conservation is inviting residents to some online open house sessions discussing new “natural hazard” maps, charting things like the South Nation River’s floodplains.

Hazard maps are used by municipalities when reviewing development applications and dealing with similar projects, to help keep communities safe.

Residents are being invited to attend the open house meetings so they can review the updated maps alongside experts and provide feedback.
