Emergency Preparedness Week being marked in Prescott

This is Emergency Preparedness Week.
To mark it, the Town of Prescott, Augusta Township and the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal are joining up to host an information night on Thursday at the Prescott Fire Department.
Organizers say you can learn about how to be prepared at home in the case of an emergency and what you need to include in a 72 hour kit, the amount of time in some situations that it could take for emergency responders to get to you in your home.
Tracy Day is the Fire Administrator and Community Emergency Management Coordinator for the Town of Prescott and she says the session is based around education.
“I think it’s just a matter of working with people to have them gather it together and have a central location, or a container or something ready to go.”
The session runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and you can drop in at any time.
