The rain didn’t stop residents from enjoying Canada Day Celebrations Friday. People were out throughout the day around Fort Wellington enjoying the activities to celebrate the nation’s 149th birthday. Residents were treated to interpreters and period clothing at Fort Wellington. There were also games and a barbecue plus other activities for the whole family to enjoy. The fireworks were a success despite a thunderstorm moving in around the same time. In Cardinal fireworks were delayed until after the downpour and in Iroquois fireworks were cancelled and rescheduled for Saturday night.
