Province offers $50,000 reward in homicide investigation

The Government of Ontario is offering a reward of fifty thousand dollars for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder of Frederick “John” Hatch. The body of the 65-year-old man was discovered on December 17th, 2015, near Erin, Ontario. He was last seen in the Ottawa area, December 16th. Mr. Hatch was known to hitchhike. That may be how he made his way to the town north-west of Toronto.

At the time of his death, Mr. Hatch was wearing a denim vest with Mickey Mouse characters on the back, a black leather jacket, blue and white bandanna, glasses, black Harley Davidson boots and he was carrying a red duffel bag.

Investigators from Wellington County OPP are partnering with neighbouring detachments in this investigation. Anyone with information that could help is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
