Edwardsburgh teen charged after driving impaired, into a corn field

A 19-year-old man from Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township is facing charges after failing to remain at the scene of an accident. Around 9:45pm on Sunday, May 1st, Grenville County OPP were called to the intersection of County Road 18 and Guy Road, west of Oxford Mills. Investigation showed a Honda Civic was travelling west on 18 when it didn’t stop at the sign and landed in a field.

The driver got out of the car and left the scene. A short time later he was arrested and taken to the Kemptville detachment. He was also charged with impaired driving, with more than 80 mgs blood alcohol. He is to appear in court June 1st.
