Locals recognized with chamber awards

The South Grenville Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards banquet. The event took place at the Cardinal Legion last night. 

Victoria Robertson, from Connect Youth, was the guest speaker and Siobhan O’Hanlon, a 737 pilot with Sunwing Airlines and Prescott native, provided the keynote address. 

The Mike Boyles Memorial Corporate Service Award, recognizing a business that contributes to the community by being a responsible and caring employer, went to Canadian Rail Equipment Works and Services (CREWS). 

The Community Artistic and Cultural Award went to Mary Moore, a local artist, singer, musician and graphic designer. The award recognizes the contribution of an individual to the development and success of the local artistic and cultural community.

Kylie Osborne took home the Rev. Gerry Ring Memorial Community Service Award, for making South Grenville a better place to live through her fundraising work.  

The Connie Dickey Youth of the Year Award, given to a youth who is considered a credit to the community, was presented to Jeremy Beckstead for his work with Connect Youth.
