You can enjoy a night out and help local animals next month.
The Around the World in 80 Spays event is back on Tuesday, November 19th at the Brockville Convention Centre. The event aims to raise money to cover the costs of 80 spay surgeries through the Leeds and Grenville OSPCA and local veterinarians. Manager Marianne Carlyle says this is the 11th year of the event and this year’s theme is “Tropical Tuesday.” There will be food appetizers served from places around the tropics that evening.
Carlyle says approximately $14,000 will cover 80 larger dog spay surgeries. She says last year they raised around $12,500 and this year they would like to get even closer or surpassing that $14,000 goal. Carlyle says they are still looking for sponsorship’s for the event.
Doors will open at 5:30 pm that night and Carlyle says tickets to the event will be available at the centre next week.
