Walk for Freedom brings in $1,500 for local organization

The Walk for Freedom in Prescott has raised $1,500 for Victim Services Leeds and Grenville (VSLG).

The walk took place last Saturday. Organizer Denise March says over 40 people joined the walk this year which is an increase from last year. March says she’s very pleased with the results.

She added last year VSLG was short on their budget by $2,000 so if there are any other people looking to donate to this cause they still can.

March says human trafficking awareness is a passion of hers and VSLG is getting ready to start a Human Trafficking Coalition this fall.

March also runs Beacon Bags and says her goal is to one day open a home for human trafficking victims. More information about human trafficking can be found through the Beacon Bags social media.

Anyone looking to make a donation can contact March at 613-213-2859 or email [email protected].
