Just before midnight last night, Leeds County OPP were sent to a collision on the 401 at the North Augusta exit. A westbound pickup truck with attached trailer was passing a transport truck when the pickup lost control and left the road. The driver of the pickup was ejected from his truck. The 39-year-old Orillia man was taken to hospital in Kingston with life threatening injuries.
The westbound lanes of the 401 between the Brockville exits were closed for most of the morning but have now reopened.
