The OPP is investigating a fatal collision on County Road 2 in Elizabethtown-Kitley. Around 3:30pm today, officers responded to a single vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
The vehicle was travelling east on County Road 2 near Hallecks Road South, when a woman entered the road from the median and was struck.
The pedestrian has been identified as Joy Rutherford, age 71, of Elizabethtown-Kitley. Good Samaritans stopped to administer first aid and CPR.
The victim was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. The driver was uninjured.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators and OPP Reconstructionist were called to the scene to assist with the investigation. No charges have been laid.
The intersection is to remain closed for the evening as the investigation continues.
