A special weather statement has been issued for the area. Environment Canada says there is potential for freezing rain Saturday night into Sunday morning. Snow and blowing snow is also possible for Sunday evening.
A strong low pressure system may cause snow overnight Saturday or early Sunday morning, before transitioning to freezing rain or ice pellets and then rain by Sunday afternoon.
The precipitation is then expected to change back to snow later Sunday afternoon or evening. Between 5 and 10 centimeters of snow and ice pellets are expected by Monday morning.
Strong winds may develop Sunday evening, with gusts of 70 kilometers per hour possible. Blowing snow could reduce visibility.
