UPDATE: Freezing Rain Warning

Update: Environment Canada has upgraded the statement to a Freezing Rain Warning.  It says we can expect snow and ice pellets in the amount of 5 centimeters before midnight.  Then that will change to freezing rain near midnight.  As the temperatures rise tomorrow(Thursday) morning, the freezing rain should turn to rain.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the region.

Freezing rain is expected to affect Central and Eastern Ontario beginning tomorrow night. Environment Canada says another large low pressure system brewing over the Southern Plains is moving towards the Great Lakes.

Snow will likely arrive tomorrow night and change to ice pellets, then freezing rain later on.

Most areas may get a few centimetres of snow and ice pellets before the transition to freezing rain, which is expected to end Thursday morning as temperatures get above zero degrees.

Travel may be affected.
