Prescott Kinsmen Arts And Craft Show In November Supporting Spirit of Giving Campaign Again

The 41st annual Kinsmen Club of Prescott Arts and Crafts Show will be on Saturday, November 17th.

The event is to support the club with 100-percent of the proceeds funding their service work in town. Admission is three dollars per person and children under 12 are free if they are accompanied by an adult. It is happening at South Grenville District High School from nine to four. Judi Baril is one of the Organizers of the event and says the proceeds go towards projects like the annual Spirit of Giving campaign, which feeds around 350 families at Christmas time.

“So, the Kinsmen bear the largest cost to do that. We purchase all of the turkeys, we purchase all of the perishable products. My goal is to make sure that every child under 12 gets a present.”

Baril says the campaign covers South Grenville, so it helps families in Prescott, Edwardsburgh/Cardinal and Augusta. Baril explains, the price of turkeys, alone, are seven-thousand dollars. She adds, the Kinsmen traditionally raise between 10 and 12-thousand dollars and this is the largest arts and crafts show outside of the Ottawa region.

Bail notes 225 vendor tables were sold that will include a variety of things from baked goods, jewelry and artists.

“We’ve got everything. I always say that you can kind of start and finish your Christmas shopping with us because there are such a variety of people there, artisans of all different types.”

There will be vendors all around the first floor of the school. Refreshments will be available all day from United Way Cafe. There will also be free parking and babysitting.
