Some residents of Leeds County have been receiving disturbing phone calls that could lead to fraud. The OPP says the calls come from a man identifying himself as ‘Officer Michael Thompson’, or ‘Officer James Morrison’. The caller goes on to tell the resident that they owe money and threatens arrest if they don’t pay.
Police are reminding the public they do not make calls like this and will not contact residents demanding money. If you receive calls like this do not provide personal information, including bank or credit card information. Contact police or Crime Stoppers.
