Holodomor National Awareness Tour Stopping in Prescott on Sunday

A bus that spreads awareness about the famine-genocide that happened in Soviet Ukraine during 1932 and 1933 will be in town this Sunday.

Roma Dzerowicz is the Executive Director for the Holodomor National Awareness Tour. She says the tour is trying to raise awareness for the Holodomor because it has been denied, hidden and covered up.

The bus will be by the park at King Street East and East Street from 12:00pm to 8:00pm. Every half hour there will be a short documentary shown that has to do with the Holodomor.

Dzerowicz says they have upwards of five documentaries up for viewing, including one they’ve just produced.

The documentaries are shorter versions around fifteen to twenty minutes in length for the most part. Dzerowicz suggests the documentaries are appropriate for anyone over the age of seven.

The event is free for visitors.
