Over 200 re-enactors to take part in Battle of Crysler’s Farm

The Battle of Crysler’s Farm is coming to Upper Canada Village. The re-enactment of the notorious local battle is set for July 14 and 15. On November 11, 1813, British, Canadian and Indigenous Allies numbering 1,200 defeated an invading American force of some 4,000 men on the muddy fields adjacent to John Crysler’s farm, near present day Morrisburg. Friends of Crysler’s Farm Battlefield Director Amanda Fasken says there will be lots to do and see at the reenactment.

The gates open at 9:30am. Over 200 re-enactors will be participating in the event. They will be doing drills and artillery demonstrations prior to the battle. Kids will be invited onto the battlefield at 1:30pm and given wooden muskets and uniforms. The battle begins at 2:00pm. Fasken says the battle will be realistic.

The cost is $7 per person or $30 for a family. Kids age six and under are free. All the money goes back to the Friends of Crysler’s Farm Battlefield. For more details, click here. Cryslersfarm.com
