Spencerville native cycling 7,000 kilometers to raise money for orphans

A perilous journey with a purpose. Spencerville native Anisa Aubin is about to embark on a 7,000 kilometer bike race through Norway. Her goal is to raise $25,000 for the Dreamrider organization, which provides scholarships to Malawian orphans so they can go to high school. About 20 kids will get a better education if she reaches her goal. Aubin says the students need scholarships.

Aubin cycled 4,400 kilometers through Slovakia last year and raised $5,000 for the Dreamrider organization. This year she’ll be doing the NorthCape-Tarifa Bike Race. She says the money goes a long way for the Malawian orphans.

The race kicks off on June 20. Aubin will cycle between 300 and 350 kilometers each day. For more details or to donate, visit the Dreamrider Anisa Facebook page.
