The French Catholic School Board are Sending Two Students to the Arctic

The CECCE are sending two of it’s students to the Arctic as part of an international expedition.

During the UNI-VERT Student Earth Summit the board announced they would be sending two students to the Far North with around 100 other young people from around the world. School Board Super Intendent of Education Danielle Chatelain says they currently have a committee looking at the 43 submissions they received.

The trip is put on by the Students on Ice Organization according to Chatlain.

She thinks it creates an interesting dynamic between two generations of leaders in the environment. Chatelain says they originally planned to announce they would be sending one student.

The trip runs from July 23rd to August 7th and is predominantly ship based. The school board is hoping the experience can help foster a passion for the environment that lasts a lifetime.
