A swing for people in wheelchairs may be coming to a Prescott park.
During Council this week Mayor Brett Todd talked about how he and Councillor Leanne Burton had both been approached about the possibility of adding an accessibility swing at Sarah Spencer Park. Dan Beattie, Director of Public Works and Infrastructure, says staff has started looking at different swing designs while collecting quotes. He adds that to make the accessible swing accessible they would also need to shave down the curb around the park.
The swing would allow residents dependent on the use of a wheelchair to use more of the town’s recreation equipment.
