One of the best known ways that scammers operate is to approach your door and tell you they’re working in the area and noticed you property may need work. They will then offer a discounted price or a senior’s discount that’s only available that day but the Grenville County OPP say this is usually the first indication that you may be dealing with a fraudster.
If you find yourself talking to someone like this, the best thing to do is trust your gut and ask them to leave.
