Shovelling snow onto the road could get you fined

A local Public Works Manager is reminding you it’s against the law to shovel snow onto the road.

This comes as flurries are popping up more and more often in the forecast.

Manager Perry Kelly says you shouldn’t be getting rid of snow onto roads because it can become a risk to public safety.

He says you’re actually undoing the work of winter maintenance operators by putting snow onto the road.

According to provincial laws, depositing snow or ice onto roadways can result in a fine of $85.
