Brockville General Hospital Heart and Solstice Fundraiser

The Brockville General Hospital Foundation has been given a boost following a successful fundraiser.

Last weekend, the Brockville General Hospital Foundation held its 9th Annual Heart and Solstice Event at the home of Janet Eaton and Ray Wheeler. Despite clouds threatening the outdoor event, almost $26,000 was raised by the time the last donation was collected.

The Heart and Solstice Committee also took time during the event to honour Jack Keyes, a resident of Gananoque for his support of the Brockville Cardiovascular Program. According to Brockville Hospital staff, the cardiovascular program doesn’t receive government funding, making it reliant on the generosity of community donors and fundraising groups like the Heart and Solstice Committee.

Keyes recently donated $100,000 to the program. Brockville Hospital representatives say this brings Keyes’ total to $224,000 over the years. They added that Scotiabank is a lead sponsor of the event, matching up to $5,000 for this event and the Brockville Cardiovascular Program.
