Elder Abuse Seminar still has spaces left for next week

There’s still room to register for the Elder Abuse Seminar set for next Thursday.

Victim Services Leeds and Grenville and the Grenville County OPP are partnering on the event which runs from 9:30am to 3:00pm at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.

June 15th is also the national day for elder abuse awareness.

A number of speakers will talk about the issues to help recognize and provide support to older adults at risk in the community. It will also focus on specific forms of abuse that people should be aware of.

Grenville County OPP Detachment Commander Inspector June Dobson says one of the types of abuse that will be discussed is fraud. Dobson says OPP Anti Rackets Branch Detective Constable John Armit will present that topic.

The event is open to anyone who has an interest in learning more about the topics discussed. Organizers hope many seniors and caregivers will want to attend.

If you’d like to register, contact Amanda by email at [email protected] or call 613-925-0155.
