Here's what's happening in Prescott:
St.Mark Catholic School in Prescott is holding a Mother's Day mini floral workshop.
It's scheduled for Thursday, May 9 at the school and students will be making mini bouquets to bring home for Mother's Day.

Here's what's happening in Prescott:
There's a garden sale at Maynard Public School in Prescott next month.
It's scheduled for May 15 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It's organized by the school's Grade 2/3 class.
The class is looking for donations of seeds, both opened or unopened packages, and plants.
Seed donations are being accepted until May 10 while plants are being collected until May 15.

The South Edwardsburgh Public School's parent council is hosting a Mayfest community fundraising event.
Organizers say it's scheduled for this Saturday at the school in Johnstown.
Activities include carnival-style games with prizes, balloon animals, face painting, BBQ, and plant sales.

A community volunteer income tax clinic is scheduled for Saturday in Iroquis.
It's taking place at the Royal Canadian Legion on Dundas Street from 10 a.m. to noon.
It's a free service for individuals and families with modest incomes.

The South Grenville Guild of Fine Art is hosting their Spring Splash Art Show this weekend.
It's scheduled to be hosted at the Royal Canadian Legion on Henry Street West.

The Youth Work and Wellness Fair is scheduled for May 7 at South Grenville District High School.
It's running from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. with an evening session from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Organizers say the event will help students and parents connect with local resources about community agencies and employers.

The South Grenville Food Bank is thanking the local fire department for holding a food drive last month.
They say the drive, put on by the Leeds and Grenville Fire Department, brought in a total of 3,765 pounds of food amounting to a total value of $4872.
They say we are all feeling the crunch these days and a little help goes a long way.

Registration is now open for the 2024 Terry Fox Run in Prescott.
It's scheduled to take place on September 15 and begins at the Kinsmen Ampitheatre.

It's National Immunization Week.
The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit says this year's theme "Protect your future, get immunized."

Here's what's happening in Prescott:
The Town of Prescott is teaming up with the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal and the Township of Augusta to try to improve the area's water and wastewater services.
The three are joining together on a joint $38 million infrastructure funding application to the provincial government's Housing-Enabling Water System Fund.
If successful, the investment will improve water and wastewater services for our residents and free up capacity to add up to 1,550 new homes in Prescott and Augusta.

The Leeds, Grenville, and Lanark District Health Unit is sending out the last call for submissions for their Oral Health Month activity.
Parents and kids from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 are invited to work together to submit a drawing or painting showing who is on their child's oral health team.
You can learn more on the health unit's website and the deadline to enter is May 1st.
April is Oral Health Month.

The Morrisburg and District Lion's Club is working to help protect the planet.
Twice a year, they pick up trash along Highway 2 to Church Road.
Last year, they say they filled over 20 bags of roadside garbage and they add they will be back at it again early next month.

Thousand Islands Secondary School Treasure Chest in Brockville is looking for formal wear donations.
The prom dresses that are collected will be given to students who need them.

A stretch of Highway 401 westbound near Prescott has now reopened following an early morning transport truck rollover.
Officials with Augusta Fire Rescue say first responders were called out to the highway, around 10 kilometers from Prescott, around 3:30 Monday morning.
They say the truck was carrying wood, the driver was extricated from the truck and treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The highway reopened in the area shortly after 10 a.m. Monday.

You're being reminded that the deadline for registering to play in the Prescott and District Soccer Association is fast approaching.
It's on May 9th and registrations after that date will be $90.
The season is expected to run from mid-May until the end of July.

Health officials are urging you to protect yourself from ticks if you're participating in a community clean-up.
The Leeds, Grenville, and Lanark District Health Unit says you should apply a repellant with DEET.
You should also wear light-colored clothing, tuck your pants in your socks, and wear fully enclosed shoes.

The Leeds Grenville 2024 basketball camp is set for July.
Taking place from July 22nd to July 26th, the camp is for ages 5 through 14.
