Upper Canada District School Board Promoting Mental Health Awareness

Students and faculty at the Upper Canada District School Board are sharing the message of mental health awareness.

Rideau District High School student Melissa Crump was just one of many high school students across the board to wear green last week in support of those struggling. Crump says she thinks green is a good colour because to her it represents growth. She adds that growing as a person in a healthy way is what mental health really is.

RDHS has also made a point of hanging signs on how to access mental health services in private places so students can copy down information privately. According to Crump it’s important to reach out to people suffering from mental illness so they know there is help available.

She finished by saying if there was something she could tell her classmates it’s that they’re never alone.
