The Upper Canada District School Board is Raising Awareness About Mental Health This Week

The Upper Canada District School Board are partnering with the Canadian Mental Health Association and Children’s Mental Health Ontario to raise awareness about mental health.

This week is Mental Health Week in the province and the board is asking their schools to raise awareness through a few campaigns. Green spotlights or light bulbs may be placed near front doors and schools are being encouraged to put up message boards so people can show their support for those battling mental illness. Staff are also being asked to include one message about mental health each morning as part of announcements.

The school board is encouraging everyone to use the hash tags #ucdsb, #GETLOUD and #kidscantwait when tweeting about mental health this week.
