The results are in from the weekend’s Fort Town Night Run.
According to event organizer Julie Larose they raised $9000 for Spencerville, Kemptville Brockville and Prescott Venturers and Scouts. Almost fifty children ran the 1K fun run while the same amount of adults ran the 10K and over 150 people ran the 5K.
Carl Coutu and 12-year-old Mercedez Covey were the male and female 5K winners. Lasse Hovland and Christie Reitsma won the 10K. Grade 6 student from Maynard Public School Rebecca Barkley won the Medal Drawing contest.
Finally Julie says the Kangaroo Kuties won Team Spirit, Cardinal Flowers and Gifts won Business Spirit and the Cinco de Mayo theme on Centre Street won the Neon Spirit award for best cheering and home decorations.
The event was dedicated to the memory of MP Gord Brown and was attended by both MPP Steve Clark and Mayor Brett Todd.
