There are a few tips to keep in mind when it comes to shoveling all of the snow we keep getting.
Municipal officials say you should pile the snow on your property and shovel or plow it into an area that’s out of the way.
They say you should also be mindful of your neighbors and don’t plow, blow or shovel snow onto their property without permission.
You should also keep all hydrants clear and avoid blocking curbs so that you leave space for your garbage and recycling bins.
You’re also being reminded that it’s a provincial offence to pile or push snow across a roadway.
It’s a Highway Traffic Act violation and you could face a fine of between $60 to $1,000 plus court costs and surcharges
