Fall expected to bring warmer than normal weather

September is starting off in a similar fashion to what was seen in the region over the past few months.

After one of the wettest summers on record, Environment Canada Senior Climatologist Dave Phillips says the first few days of the month will see more rain.

He says that will be a story that’s consistent throughout the month but, he adds, that doesn’t mean it will be cold.

Phillips tells the Vista Radio Newsroom that you might need a light jacket but you’ll still be able to get outside.

“That’s where the thermometer is kind of sitting. It’s going to be a little warmer than normal September but not temperatures where it’s going to get up and be roasting.”

Phillips says it looks like it’s going to be warmer than normal through the fall leading up to winter which could be mild as well.
