UCDSB Trustees endorse new math plan

The Upper Canada District School Board’s trustees have rubber stamped a new plan to help students make the grade when it comes to math.

At their meeting on Wednesday night, trustees endorsed the Math Achievement Action Plan for 2025-26.

While recently released EQAO scores show an increase in students reading, writing and math across all grades, board officials say math needs to continue to be an area of focus.

The province has also asked that all board’s trustees endorse their respective math plans.

The plan includes new professional learning for staff, new math fluency resources, EQAO practice opportunities in all schools, the expansion of the board-wide EQAO game show and additional math challenges as well as tools focused on students in Grades 7 to 9.

It will now be submitted to the Ministry of Education.
