Prescott Junction to be celebrated on Saturday

A new plaque is commemorating the lost village of Prescott Junction.

The junction, where the Bytown and Prescott Railway connected with the Grand Trunk Railway, will be honoured on Saturday at an event hosted by the Grenville County Historical Society.

Once a thriving railway hub, the society says its memory now lives on through this special community event.

It’s scheduled for 2 p.m. at the eastern end of the Heritage Trail, in front of Fort Wellington.

Organizers say you can discover the fascinating story of a village that has all but disappeared, and help them honour its place in our region’s history.
