St. Lawrence Swordfighters Guild looking for new members

If you have ever thought about trying sword fighting, here’s an opportunity for you.

The St. Lawrence Swordfighters Guild is looking for participants for its Foundations of Medieval Combat candidate program where you can learn how to wield a long sword safely and professionally.

Participants must be 18 and older with the four month program beginning with a free first class at the North Grenville Municipal Centre on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

Matthew McKee is the Founder and Headmaster of the Saint Lawrence Swordfighters Guild and he tells Moose FM that the group is like a family.

“It’s a very trusting and secure place and we are trying to practice something that is inherently and exceedingly dangerous.”

More information can be found on the guild’s website.
