There’s a bit of a break on the way at the gas pumps but it wont last long.
Dan McTeague, President of Canadians for Affordable Energy, says there will be a nine cent per litre price drop at gas stations across Ontario on Friday.
It comes, he says, as stations are being cut throat to beat their competition.
He tells the Vista Radio Newsroom that drivers will come out the winner, but not for long.
“You could see a lot of places under ($1.65 or $1.64) and that’s likely to hold only for 24 hours.”
On Saturday, McTeague says he expects prices will go up by as much as six cents.
He adds that the cost of diesel is also expected to rise to an all-time high before the weekend due to volatility around the world.
