Police reminding you to lock your vehicle after series of thefts reported

You’re being reminded to always lock your vehicle when you leave it.

The message from Grenville County OPP comes after they say they received multiple reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles between December and Jan. 7.

Police say the thefts happened in Prescott, Augusta Township and Edwardsburgh-Cardinal Township and it’s believed they occurred in the overnight hours.

The vehicles were parked outside and in residential driveways.

It’s a good practice, police say, to also remove or hide any money or valuables from your vehicle.

If you see suspicious activity in your community, or have surveillance footage of an incident you’re asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
