Emergency training planned for Thursday in Spencerville

Don’t be alarmed if you see more emergency vehicles than normal in Spencerville later this week.

The Regional Paramedic Program for Eastern Ontario is hosting its annual EMS Boot Camp on Thursday.

You can expect to see ambulances, police, and fire vehicles with lights and sirens in the area throughout the day.

It will be taking place at Fire Station 1 and the fairgrounds with the fire department setting up vehicles for an accident scenario and performing an auto extrication demo.

Officials say this is training only, so there is no cause for concern.

RPPPEO officials say they provide trusted medical direction and advice, patient safety and quality programming, and continuing education to paramedics from nine paramedic services.
