There’s a new stop sign in Cardinal to watch out for.
Edwardsburgh Cardinal Council voted on Monday to install a new stop sign on Meadowlands Drive at the intersection of St. Lawrence Street.
Mayor Tory Deschamps says there had been a resident complaint dating back to the creation of the Meadowlands subdivision in regards to its entrance.
He said the complaint focused on how stop signs were setup and he adds that three streets come to an intersection which can be confusing.
Deschamps tells the Vista Radio Newsroom that they want to put safety first as they are trying to attract young families to the area.
“If there’s one complaint that you ever get it’s that traffic is moving too fast especially by parks and stuff like that.”
The stop sign has now been installed.
Driver’s travelling on Meadowlands Drive are required to stop at St. Lawrence Street.
Motorists are being asked to use caution at the intersection as everyone becomes familiar with the new traffic control.
