Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar says his council is aiming to help other municipalities at this weeks Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference in Ottawa.
Shankar says the town doesn’t specifically have any delegations set up but they have been attending meetings on behalf of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.
He says one of those was on the success Renfrew County is having with its Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre which provides virtual health services in order to limit the number of people in hospital emergency departments.
Shankar tells Moose FM it’s invaluable to learn and collaborate when the opportunity is there.
“Why recreate the wheel? If someone has a great idea or a great plan going forward let’s piggyback on that.”
The annual conference wraps up on Wednesday.
