Golden Knights’ Ben Hutton brining Stanley Cup to Prescott Friday

Hockey’s holy grail is coming to Prescott Friday, courtesy of a Knight.

Ben Hutton won the Stanley Cup in June with the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Every player on an NHL championship team gets a day with the Cup and Hutton’s using his to bring it to the town where he was raised.

He’ll have it on display at the Rotary Pavilion at 191 Water St. E., from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. He hopes it will inspire kids.

“I wouldn’t be where I am without the community of Prescott and the surrounding support in the area,” he says. “I want to give back. It’s about showing small-town kids that they can make it, too.”

Hutton, a nine-year NHL veteran, grew up playing games at the Leo Boivin Community Centre and played Junior hockey with the Kemptville 73s.
