Town Not Happy About Flyers Heading North

After news of the sale of the Prescott Flyers franchise came late last week, public reaction has been unsurprisingly negative.

Mayor Brett Todd says it’s disappointing having the team leave, as he feels Junior B hockey only just came back to Prescott.

Todd thinks the CCHL2 league has moved way from promoting hockey within communities, and is now more money driven in the Ottawa market.

The Flyers will be moving to Cobden under Pembroke Lumber Kings owner Dale McTavish for the start of next season.
