With election season upon us, police say damaging, removing, defacing, stealing, or otherwise interfering with election signs could result in a police investigation.
East Region OPP says doing so could also constitute a criminal offence.
They say interfering with election signs can include stealing them, removing them from approved locations, damaging or vandalizing them and relocating them without permission.
Acts of mischief and property damage, police say, can impact property owners, candidates, volunteers, and the community.
Residents are encouraged to respect public and private property.
Anyone with information regarding incidents of property damage, vandalism, or interference with election signs is encouraged to contact police.
