You’re being reminded to keep an eye out for turtle’s crossing the road.
South Nation Conservation says this is turtle nesting season and they are asking you to please use extra caution on our local roads.
As temperatures rise, they say more turtles are on the move in search of nesting sites, water, and sunny spots.
They say that if you see a turtle on the road you should put safety first and leave it alone if it’s not in danger.
If safe to do so, help it cross in the direction it’s heading and never pick it up by the tail.
You’re also reminded to wash or sanitize your hands afterward.
